Students and staff are reminded to stay home if they are sick. Students and staff should not come to school if they have had a fever in the last 24 hours.
If students and staff are close contacts and have not been vaccinated or had COVID-19 in the last 3 months, they are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines and quarantine. Any questions regarding whether you should quarantine should be forwarded to the primary care physician.CDC Guidelines
If a student or staff member is told to quarantine, the school nurse must be notified. The school nurse can ask questions and let them know when they can return to school if their local physician has not given them a date.
If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, the school nurse must be notified. A letter will be sent out to students and staff who may have been exposed.
If a student or staff member is at school and starts to have signs and symptoms of COVID-19, the school nurse can offer a COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test. Guardians of students must first complete thepermission form and provide verbal consent. Staff being tested must complete a consent form. The rapid test involves a nasal swab and takes about 15 minutes. If the test is positive, it is reported to the Tennessee Department of Health and the student or staff member must leave the premises and may return after their isolation period.
Students and staff that have signs and symptoms of COVID-19 will be placed away from other students and staff members.
Social distancing will be maximized in all classes and in all locations at school.
